HIP HIP Three cheers for all: I installed the kernel headers & the NVIDIA driver read the manual fixed XF86Config-4. Then startx And wounder of wonders KDE poped up. Of course I thought that I had purged it. Well if SNAFU is the way things are I'll live with it. Thanks to All You Really helped;
