Rather than renaming netscape-v304-export.x86-unknown-linux-elf.tar so that you can use the .deb installer for the netscape 3 version, it's fairly simple to hack the 3 netscape related install files in /var/lib/dpkg/info. Simply search for all instances of 301 and change it to 304, then do the same
