I found what my problem was, when installing the module, I choose
options=3 (for 10bt-NBC), while I had to choose 0 for 10bt.
I need some sleep :).

My experience was that:
3Com is now selling the 3c905B card. Notice the "B". Drivers
for this appeared in the 2.0.34 kernel.
The boot-floppies I used had 2.0.33.

Another thing to watch out for is the AutoSelect of the interface.
You might be better off selecting 10mbit for the installation
then tweaking it later on. The 3Com's especially have troubles
negotiating with Bay Networks switches.
