I had this problem too. I copied libdb.so.3

during boot, in the way that you describe. Prompted by your post I set
out to fix it and the message is now gone. But I cannot tell that I
understand myself what was causing it. All I did was update

I just noticed this in the context of mounting a vfat
partition. I didn't notice any problems here but I did find
a solution.
The order of entries in /etc/fstab is important. Make sure
that the proc filesystem is first. This eliminated the
problem for me.
