I had the same error.   Totally clean minimal net install.   apt-get install gnome   /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xinit/xserverrc: /usr/bin/X11/X: No such file or directory   Then had to go xf86config – why didn’t the package configure tell me to do that?   And   apt-get install x-window-

Having the same problem as described on Message-id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>  but with Deb 3.0r2.   When I enter: su -c "cd /usr/bin/X11 ; ln XFree86 X"   I get ln: accessing 'Xfree86' : No such file or directory   I am a super newbie. If there are paths of solution I could try, could you please
