I found the reason, that is some permission in

silly that it requires to create in

of ease of use? If I counld do that I would rather use
my own way of dialling. I just want a completely G

Hi,
I had the same problem. The "dirty" way is to change overnership for
usr/sbin/pppd. Or you could add yourself to the group that allows using pppd,
think it is "dialout" or "pppusers".

Do you have the xisp package from 2.1,

The problem is not so much one of code as it is one of policy. I could

Being new to Linux, I haven't learned bash or any of the scripting shells.
One of the things I want to do, is have a timeout in my ppp0 dial up, where
as if it fails on one isp, say 5 times in a row, it dials the second isp
and restarts the sc

pppconfig sets multiple ppp connections. Unfortunately, it does not deal
with:
/etc/resolv.conf
/etc/hosts
/etc/smail/routers
/etc/smail/config
The multiple isp problem remains an unresolved issue.

There is a neat utility called pppconfig, which allows for multiple ISP
configs.
Just use: pon to start it.

I hope this will help. I am using it with Debian 1.3.1 and it works fine.
I also took the appropriate xforms from that adress.

In short, I should get the new version.
I don't have an entry "init" in the options->communication. Probably because I
am running the old version.
Do you know if the new version will run on an old Debian 1.3.1 (with libc5,
xform0 (0.81-6)) ? By old Debian 1.3.1 I mean not 1.3.1r6.

This should not happen.
