It helps to get really short cables (3ft or less) between the
box and the CPUs. This is one of those cases where gold contacts
seem to help as well.

Try hooking each card to the monitor directly or reduce your
refresh rate in order to compare the cards. Most switch boxes
will muddy anything above 1024x768x60hz, as will long cable
lengths.

What do we need to do?

Quittin' on Matrox ? I'd understand if it were for anything else then a
TNT2. If you're looking to play games you're making a good point but still.

I addresed this on vuln-dev a while ago. Look at securityfocus for the
message. Basically, a malicious person can use the antivirus programs to
smurf an email attack. They're not just annoying, they're dangerous.

Hi, Justin...
The TNT2 chipset is listed as RivaTNT2 (chipset # 412 when using xf86config in

I've been though this with a Vanta. The Nvidia source is for 3.3.5 I
believe, otherwise you have the binaries (with stringent license). The
binary driver is unstable & liable to crash & burn with slight provocation
eg. ctrl-alt-Fx to a text console, or simply dying on startup.

Since NVidia's NV1/STG2000 and RIVA 128 chips were supported in
xserver-svga, my bet is that TNT2 is, also. Have you used
xf86setup (or is it XF86Setu

Complete failure. Quake 2 will signal 11 every time. like so:
gravitywell:/mnt/.hdb4/quake2# ./quake2 +set vid_ref glx +set \
gl_driver libMesaNVidia.so.3.0
Added packfile ./baseq2/pak0.pak (3307 files)
Added packfile ./baseq2/pak1.pak (279 files)
Added packfile ./baseq2/pak2.pak (2 files)
exe
I followed their instructions and got GL working. i've only tested it
with xscreensaver-gl. It works but the screen flickers pretty bad in
OpenGL screensavers. I'm quite interested to see what results you
achieve.

I'm using a TNT2 Ultra with Xfree 3.3.5 and the glx module from
http://pandora.debian.org/~crow. I'm 99% sure that the X server and glx
module will work with the normal TNT2.
