I use MICQ. It's public domain and the latest version (0.3.4) is almost
even stable - at least when it loses its
I've been a zicq user for several months. Works great, if you don't use -O
or -O2 optimisation to compile it. :>

If you want nice and graphical, you can use licq. If you like text based,
micq is nice. I haven't any experience with the others, but .. trust me,
they are out there. (A search of the web for licq and micq will turn up the
others, I think.. :)

gnomeicu is also a great one, is simple to use and looks great.
