What do you get with $ cdrecord -scanbus -dev=ATAPI then you can use -dev=ATAPI:0,0,0 or -dev=ATAPI:0,1,0 etc. with cdrecord depending upong which drive you want to use for writing. other reply went as new message. Posting is a mess when using yahoo mail :( ___

This may seem too simple but I used xcdroast in X. It found my ATAPI CDRW drive and gave me the access string which was ATAPI:0,0,0. I was then able to use that at the command line for cdrecord. Also, you may want to take a look at /usr/share/doc/cdrecord/README.ATAPI.setup. Joe -Origi
