I believe that with
bind_policy soft
in libnss-ldap.conf
and
ldap [UNAVAIL=return]
entries in nsswitch.conf
you can save few seconds during boot, and safely ignore those messages.

Found some info on a bug on libnss-ldap, but not on the version im using.
So I think this is a missconfiguration rather a bug.
