Hello,
since iOS upgrade to 14.5 last week I can not upload my photos to my samba
share (Debian/unstable) anymore.
I tried to increase logging and took a look to wireshark already but didn't
found the issue.
Anyone else has a problem with Samba since upgrade to iOS 14.5?
Thanks!

Having done some research on my problem with Samba 4.1.17 as provided by
Debian Jessie, it seems that it is documented as bug 10604 on the Samba
bugzilla. It looks as though the Debian providers should fix their version
of Samba with the appropriate patch.

Hi all,
We are running a 3.0.2a Samba server here, which works fine, except
for one detail: when a Windows users creates a folder in a "guest ok

smbfs, even though the UNIX permissions are fine. In fact, the

I am running a 2.0.x kernel. If it's as simple as that, then I'll certainly
do it (one of the reasons for moving up to frozen was go use the 2.2 kernel
anyway).

Hi,
After upgrading to 'frozen' at the weekend, I can't get samba to work.
Whenever anyone tries to connect, I get an error logged, complaining that
samba can't change the group id (this is in /var/log/smb). It appears to be
trying to change to the group of the user that is trying to connect.

As the error message suggests, you might wish to try the -I option:
smbclient -L skrappur -I ip_address
where ip_address is the address of the machine you're trying to connect
to.
Apparently the machine does not realize that its NetBIOS name is
"skrappur."

I get these same errors, and I am just using the linux box for

why this happens, because this didn't happen until I upgraded to Debian

There appears to be a problem with Samba in the stable distribution I
think.
I have a small debian box named aeidns here configured to use an NT
domain controller for authentication, which doesn't appear to be
working. here are the relevant /etc/smb.conf lines ...
