If the error_log shows nothing out of the ordinary then that is very
useful to know. It would indicate CUPS has done its job properly.

Hi Roger,
I tought I had the paper with the printed error with me, but I hadn't.
So I tried to print something hoping the printer won't work.
Funny that hoping it won't work is not as frustrating as hoping it would.
Now, after 5 minutes of waiting, with the read light blinking and the

Dear linuxers,
I have this laser printer (Samsung SCX-4200) since august 2007, and it
saw some Debian versions already, among others.
It always printed ok. Its plugged via USB on a print server computer,
with Wheezy now, with CUPS.
Since Wheezy upgrade, I got a funny inexplicable problem:

Running amd-64 Sid.
If I print a web page openned with iceweasel, the page is printed mirror
image. If I save the page, re-open it still with iceweasel, then it prints
correctly. Printing is OK with any other software, including web pages
openned with Konqueror.
Any help welcome.

I have 2 Debian systems, one with printer and the other used as a workstation. I
have used lpr/lpd for printing because I have struggled enough with CUPS, but
clearly not enough struggling to get it to work, and lpr/lpd just worked (once I

I ran a dist-upgrade for testing and now have Mozilla -1.5.3. I used to
be able to print messages to my usb Epson Stylus C82 printer by
selecting postscript in the print window (I am using CUPS). Now it
prints but every character is printed as a zero. Apparently a font
connection is missing.

Thanks to all who offered advice. Steve's suggestion led me on a
path where I happened to bump across someone else who had had the
same problem. The solution is that (for some reason I don't
understand), the printer needs to be turned OFF while the computer
boots. Both cases involved an Epson

Hi,
I'm having some difficulty printing to my new printer. I have a
P2-333 based system running Debian 2.2r2, using the default

am trying to get it running (through the parallel port). I have
