No, we dont. We switched to using clear-text passwords.
We run Samba 2.07 on the machine that re-asks for passwords when
connecting net-shares. I couldn't find anything in any of the logs
either...? No authentication failure
Did you use smbpasswd?? The older versions of samba use /etc/passwd for
authentication where the newer version use a file /etc/smbpasswd (or
/etc/samba/smbpasswd), you can set the password for a user as root
with: smbpasswd -a

I have the problem that upon startup, when reconnecting mapped
net-drives (on NT), a dialog prompting for the re-entering of my
password pops up. This only occurs on shares from an AIX machine with
Samba 2.0.7. Another machine - running Linux with an older Samba - has
no problems...
