What you need is magicfilter. It is available as a Debian package. I
have at last got my printer working after much help from Anthony Fok and
much agravation. I would be happy to help with other questions on this
topic.

Probably the easiest way to set up printing would be to install either the
apsfilter or magicfilter package. These work in conjunction with
ghostscript and handle everything for you, setting up a filter and
installing the links in /etc/printcap.
