I am also using Telstra ADSL and everything works fine, i have set it up
on 3 other
machines now and they all work great as well so i can't think or what is

I get the same result as you when i type route -n

I installed the roaring penguin pppoe software and it
works fine for me. Here is what I get for ifcofig -a

I am really frustrated now. Please help me.
I have downloaded the rp-pppoe tarball and untarred and run it.
When I type adsl-start it seems to bring up the connection. ifconfig
shows it to be there.
