The log file shows this problem, while the page half renders and stops
half way through.

This was installing the php4-gd2 package, the php4-gd package installs
fine.

I regularly use apt to update or install new packages to my testing
system - since I have a dial-up connection, I avoid days-long
"dist-upgrade"s, and just "update" then "install" package by package
according to need.
In the last few days, apt has been reporting "E: Fatal, conflicts..."

Hello.
Some days ago I've posted a message about kernel-packagee not cleaning
the modules tree properly. Since then, I've also found a bug filed
against alsa-source complaining about the same behavior.
The problem is: should make-kpkg run "debian/rules clean" in those
dirs or should it run "make
More weirdness. When I downloaded rpm using ftp (rather than
apt-get) then did dpkg -i rpm... it worked fine. Hmm.

I've been following woody for some time. Today I tried:
apt-get install rpm
It fails with the following message:
Sorry, but the following packages have unmet dependencies:

I recently upgraded my debian woody.
Now whenever I start apache it just dies and I get this error in
/etc/apache/error.log :
apache: dl-close.c:122: _dl_close: Assertion `new_opencount[0] == 0' failed.
This is package apache-1.3.12-2.1
Any ideas what could cause this error ?

Take a look at the equivs package.

I have a problem with the package system. We use mysql compiled
straight from the original source-tarball. We've also installed
libdb-mysql-perl which depends on mysql-base. Because of this unmet
dependency, apt refuses to do anything.
Is it possible to make dpkg think it has installed mysql-ba
I have exactly the same problem, sounds like a bug to me...

I have a problem with the isdnutils 2.1beta1-20 package. Using the
following script (some phone numbers hidden) I was able to login to my
provider, after a final "route add default ippp0" after connecting
using ping my network connections is available and stable:

I have a problem w/ the ns 4.04 package from hamm. Java fails to work,
and I get loads of errors on the cons. I did not have any of these
problems in bo after installing in /usr/local using the install script.

This should not happen.
This is what I have installed. As you can see xforms is not installed, but

I install the xforms package, which xisp depends on. However, it
installs as xforms0, and so xisp isn't finding it (I'm getting a
dependency error).
On a related note, when I installed xforms, I got the following when it
was configuring:
