I think that I have now successfully installed a PCMCIA network card on my IBM
thinkpad 380d.
I used the most recent copy of the potato boot disks.
What I did find was that it was vital that the card was not plugged in during
initial software installation.

I am trying to install potato on an IBM thinkpad 380. As I do
not have access to potato CDs I am intending to get the debs
from a local mirror.
I have created a set of floppies, and all goes well except
that I have been unable to get it to talk to the network
