I almost never download through Netscape because it's too flakey,
instead prefering wget or even good old FTP.
Not a direct solution to your problem, and not something that works 100%
of the time (some "protected" URLs don't allow direct access).

Can anyone tell me what causes this? Today I'm unable
to download files through Netscape. When I try to
download by clicking on a hyperlink for
http://www.mp3.com Netscape shuts down. This has only
been happening today and I have been in the same
session (both logged into my workstation and onto my
