I was able to download a more recent version of libmspack. I tried to
build libmspack. I ran ./configure and got this error.

I created an identical VM and performed an identical install, except for
one difference, I used ext4 instead of btrfs (for all of /, /boot and
/home). This install works fine.
I noticed that in the broken install, initramfs is missing cryptsetup.
