mwave modem -- any support?

Any plans to support the IBM MWave DSP's modem features in Linux? The kernel docs indicate that sound support is in the process of being added, but the current method is to load DOS level drivers . . . and the IBM drivers for the modem are unfortunately Windows-level. Hey, I hate to invest money
