Yes, you have to mount the device!
Assuming you have already the proper modules loaded,try this:
$ mount -t auto /dev/sda1 /mnt/usbdrive
(if sda1 doesn't work, you may try sda2 sda3...)
then, do a ls /mnt/usbdrive to check if you can see

Hi all,
Has anyone had luck with this particular player? I thought I had the right
stuff loaded (mass storage driver, uhci, usb.core) but I don't get any icon
on the desktop when I fire up KDE.
At the shell, it recognizes "something" when I plug/unplug it in; something
to the effect of usb.c
