The specific 'editor freeze' problem that you have can be bypassed by
turning off 'version control' in the jws preferences.

You may wish to ask Mike Gaertner <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>,
he is the maintainer of that HOWTO and very reponsive in general.
The Java Workshop mini-howto in the latest doc-debian
package describes how to setup JW on Linux. However,
the latest JW, version 1.0, has just been released, and
is slightly different than the old version referred to
in the howto. Is the setup procedure the same?
