Search the Net to see if anybody else had the same problem using the
divices above.
In my opinion a nice way to search is:
(1) google.com
(2) KEYWORD site:lists.debian.org
Happy hacking

Hi,
You can try Ctrl-Alt+F2 to get to a shell
There, dmesg might give you more information on
what is happening during the mount ?
You can even try a manual mount there to find out what is happening.

Folks: Tried to install Debian 4.0 r0 on my system, and didn't get very
far. It booted fine, but then after I did this:
language for installing: English
country or region: Unitied States
Keymap: American English
then it tries to detect hardware
Then says:

I do not understand this. This is about the 4th time I am installing
debian 2.0 from the same CD and I never had this problems before:
1. I am not able to access any other filesystem than ext2 so I cannot
access my CDROM or Dos harddisk or even the floppy after the initial
installation script.
Thank you Martin & Donald.
This problem was linked to the Netwrok and SCSI cards sharing the same
IRQ. This was on a Gateway G6-200
The solution to this problem is to juggle the PCI cards until it works!

My old Slackware distribution was of Kernel 2.0.12, and had support for
the card.

When do this
Dear Users,
In deciding to upgrade my Linux, I decided to change distribution &
re-install the whole thing.
It's gone smoothly apart from the fact that the network is not
recognised. This is, unfortunately, on the critical path to full
installation!
The errors reported are:
SIOCSIFFLAGS: Try aga
