I'm still having problems with my ISDN connection to my ISP.
I set up /etc/device.ippp0, which has the comment
# See also : isdnctrl(8), isdnctrl help text
# pppbind is not yet documented in that manpage :-(
The isdnctrl help text says

If you have questions regarding an ISDN router I could probably help but
if you have an ISDN modem or internal adapter my knowledge is more
limited.
