I have a Libranet(1.82) cd and I wish to use the Helix gnome packages in it. I
noticed that it is for woody ( or what I see in the directory structure). I
tried one package to see if it will work. I tried grip and it needs libgtk... (
that's all I remember) anyway, I have this 1.2.0 whi
I seem to have screwed up my system by changing apt-lines from
helix-gnome to sid, and partially de-installing gnome. Now, whenever I
try to apt-get install anything, I get the following. Can anyone help?

The biggest issue is whether your videocard is support. Not
everything supported in 3.3.6 is working in 4.0.1. Check at
www.xfree86.org. If you have an nvidia, matrox, 3dfx, or ati
videocard you should be fine. I'm not near my machine right now, but

Here's something it took me a while to figure out.
To enable the Debian menu hierarchy in Helix GNOME,
you have to go into the GNOME Control Center (under
Programs|Settings) and on the "Menu" tab in the
"Global Menu" box enable "Distribution" either
"in the menu" or "in a submenu".
