I had the same problem on Mandriva LE2005; Adobeplugin nppdf.so stopped
working after installing mozplugger. Here is how I fixed it.
I edited /etc/mozpluggerrc, it had a section like
application/pdf: pdf: PDF file
application/x-pdf: pdf: PDF file
text/pdf: pdf: PDF file
text/x-pdf: pdf: PDF fil
