As the below hints gives no results, I understood that
the messages may come from elsewhere.
By commented, I found that it is
pam_pwdfile.so pwdfile=/etc/bunch/passwd
was the one which outputs the messages.
Is there any alternative ?

yesterday I updates my Etch boxes.
Since then PAM produces errors messages, in the /var/log/syslog file
