ELSE DO THE FOLLOWING STEPS
Arrange a live cd debian/ubuntu any live cd.
*Boot from live cd. Open terminal and run*
$sudo grub
grub> find /boot/grub/stage1
(hd0,n)
grub>root (hd0,n)
grub>setup (hd0)
grub>quit
$sudo reboot
###here n is the partition no from where you want to recove
Hi all,
before few days I have installed Squeeze on my new Lenovo S10e.
After rebooting I have got Grub error 21. Grub menu.lst and fstab was
little mess up, I assume it was because the usb installation.
I edited them but anyway I got the same error. I'm not experienced Linux

I know that Error 21 means that GRUB can't find the disk drive.

Hi,
I just got the same error, while installing from a net install CD on a
USB hard disk.
I 'just" had to change the (AMI) BIOS point of view about the HD.
USB dvice emulation --> HD
It was set to CDROM
Thanks to all of you you, I got the idea and solved the problem
