Micha, thanks for the suggestion. I had manually copied individual objects
from the packages. Forcing reinstall worked (this is the CVS DRM but with the
dir-trunk Mesa and extensions).
Tried and true. Sid right now is a mess.

on my ATI mach64 clunker. These dri-trunk packages intalled over xfree but
were in fact xorg based but the xorg would not load so I continued with xfree
and it ran fine this way.
