Hello, I'm not sure this is the correct list to ask this but I was asked
to install Debian on a Sparc machine but not all CDs/DVDs are available
to download under main download server.
Take a look at: http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/5.0.1/sparc/iso-cd/

I am having problems with the
installation of v.3 debian on the above TG Station SDT400 sparc. I cannot
find any record of the machine at the Sun site so am not 100% sure if the
machine is 64 bit or an early 128 bit model. I believe, however, that the
sbus was / is 64 bits wide.

Check "ISDN support" and enable "Old ISDN4Linux". You'll see HiSax
under passive cards section.

Our /homes are NFS mounted and the Sparc box complains a lot
about the NFS connection. I haven't started trying to figure
this one out yet.
For myself, I'm much happier trying to debug Debian/Sparc
problems rather than trying to learn S

Umm, this concerns me, shouldn't you check into that? :)
As far as the cua0 errors and the overruns on the serial console, I forgot
how I fixed that on my system, but it is a simple fix. Try:
rm -f /dev/cua*
This will get rid of those devic

I'm currently running Debian on an UltraSPARC 5 (UltraSPARC IIi cpu
aswell). Basically the system is almost exactly the same as the i386 port,

I've got a lot of work ahead of me if I want to do this, so
I'd like some opinions from those of you using Debian on an Ultra-SPARC

It depends on which SPARCstation you have; some of them (like my
IPX) aren't capable of high color depths. I, for example, am forever
limited to 8 bit
Is there a way to change color depth and resolution on sparc station using
debian?

Hey all,
For those of you running the SPARC version of Debian 2.1 (slink)
this is for you.
The latest KDE 1.1.1 .debs I've been working on are now available
for you via apt. Just add the following line to your /etc/apt/sources.list
file and be on your way.:
deb http://snowcrash.tdyc.com
The Alpha port is active, and is supported by the
debian-alpha@lists.debian.org mailing list. The 68k port is also active.
The SPARC port doesn't seem to be very active at the moment, this will
no doubt change once we have _one_ port released.
