Thanks, I got my problem fixed. I installed another version of
debootstrap (debootstrap_0.1.17.30_i386) and it seems to be going okay,
though I haven't gotten it to boot yet.
The version that didn't work was 0.1.17_i386
I am not sure if the one I am using now is the most stable version
