I recomment you do a clean re-install of debian 3.0 (yes 3.0, not 2.0)
and try and keep that up to date on security patches.

Actually, I don't think it even uses the ppa module to get the zip
drive. When I try to modprobe ppa, it says 'can't locate module ppa',
even after I've done modprobe -r ppa. I've also looked in /proc/modules

I have installed debian 2.0, but having problems installing X Window
system.
I have i740 vedio card, and it is VGA compatible. I think

IIRC, matlab is still libc5; this means you have to install the libc5
versions of all the libraries it requires.

built it with libXpm.so.4 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libXpm.so.4.9
and hamm has libXpm.so.4.10
How do I get libXpm.so.4.9 and can I get it to co-exist with libXpm.so.4.10?
