with the kde control panel. The control panel defaults to using
the smbpasswd database while debian defaults to the tdbsam database.
How can I get kde's control panel to recognize the tdbsam database?

Has anyone installed control-panel of redhat to debian? the binary itself
of control-panel is easy to install but what about the file system
configuration, modem configuration, etc.
