Hi
After changing my hardware I got problem that seems coming from X server
(Squeeze Debian / stable).
When I stop X session, consoles are useless. The cursor is blinking.
When I type a command, it does not appear but if I hit 'enter ', it is
launched. So, I can restart X or MC for example. If

Hello all,
Here's what happening.
After boot: normal console font (about 80 characters wide)
After startx: small console font (maybe 132 characters?)
A little later: no display in console at all (Alt-F7
still gets me back to X)
This problem appeared soon after converting to

I'd like to get a serial console working on my debian (unstable) box
working, so that I can test various network setups on it w/o fear of
breaking the connection.
in my lilo.conf:
boot=/dev/hda
root=/dev/hda1
install=/boot/boot.b
map=/boot/map
vga=normal
delay=20
serial=0,9600n8
image=/boot/2.2.
to have fixed by now), but the problem
was that I couldn't fix it locally on the console, but I had to do it
remotely via telnet.
Does anybody know what is causing me those console problems and how I
can solve them?
Thanks in advance.
Greetings,
Stefan.

the same version of Debian, so I just copied his over - and without editing
*poof* everything worked fine!
Of course, I will at least look through it

OK, here's my problem: I'm currently running the Woody release, and
have managed to cause a rather interesting problem: Although my syslogd
and klogd daemons are running at startup, the system logs themselves are
not being written - in fact, the log messages are displayed to the text
console...
