It seems you had not upgraded for a long time (half a year at least).

Hello. I've got a very complex situation here with perl. I'm running
sid, and last weekend's update left my system partially broken.
Basically, perl was left in a "partially installed" status. This means
that perl itself and several other packages cannot be upgraded because
the system can't find so
That's it exactly Nicos! (Well almost.) I added the line to my
httpd.conf rather than conf.d/perl.conf. Works like a charm. Thanks!

Hello,
I'm wondering if anyone is running libapache-mod-perl2 from sarge. I'm
getting some odd errors which look to be related to an error in the perl
environment. I'm trying to use ModPerl::Registry, formerly
Apache::Registry with apache2. Per the instructions at perl.apache.org,
I've made a
Hi all,
I managed to seriously screw up my debian/PPC box while doing a
dist-upgrade. I have a few questions, which hopefully someone else has
had some experience with, or maybe could point me in the direction of
an answer...

Hi,
I am kinda new to Debian. I have some experience with other distro's
like Gentoo and Red Hat. Debian seemed like the perfect distro for me :)
But unfortunatly i ran into a strange error which can't even be solved
by people in #debian at openprojects.net
A few days ago i wanted to update the n
Hi,
When I upgraded from potato to woody it seems that I have done
something wrong in that my perl installation now appears to be
broken. When I try to install a module from cpan I get this
error message:

That's the culprit, perl package is to be consider obsolete. use
apt-get install perl-5.005 instead.

I don't know about apt but about potato and frozen: potato == frozen
(frozen is simply a symlink to potato).

I have a system with broken perl installation, the output of
apt-get -s install perl is attached below.

The installed perl (according to dpkg) is perl-5.005, why did I get
"perl-5.004" to be installed?
BTW, I installed the machine using pot
