I'm running Wheezy and see that there is no support for BLF-CRYPT
scheme for storing passwords in dovecot.
I've found bcrypt package for sid, but that is not what we need.
Otoh, I wonder if it would be possible to get blowfish hashed passwords
in Dovecot by using libpam

currently I'am migrating a PureFTPD ftp server installed on old SuSE to
Debian Squeeze.
The passwords in the SuSE pureftpd.passwd are hashed with crypt() blowfish.
As I read ahead it seems like that Debians glibc isn't supporting blowfish

In OpenBSD you do have a chioce with the algorithm you use, blowfish is

box running Linux (Debian).
I used the command newusers, but the passwords at OpenBSD are stored
using blowfish. Anyone knows how install Blowfish at Linux?

I recently downloaded the int'l patch for 2.2.10 and compiled the kernel
with crypto support. It seems to work fine, but I need a different key and
block size for the blowfish algorithm. My goal is to mount previously
generated encrypted filesystems that were created under windows
