That's the culprit, perl package is to be consider obsolete. use
apt-get install perl-5.005 instead.

I don't know about apt but about potato and frozen: potato == frozen
(frozen is simply a symlink to potato).

The installed perl (according to dpkg) is perl-5.005, why did I get
"perl-5.004" to be installed?
