Did you configure the network when installing Debian, if you didn't you
should edit /etc/init.d/network, if you configured the network when
installing (and configured it right) you shouldn't.

Hi all. Sorry if this is a bit long. I'm running Slink 2.1 (r2) and
trying to get a 3Com900 ethernet (PCI) card working. I've done the
following:
Compiled driver from source (D Becker) and put this 3c90x.o in
/lib/modules/2.0.36/net
Added alias eth0 3com90x to /etc/modutils/alias (at the end - is t
