The new kernels have both, a new and an old Adaptec driver.. The old one seem
support
this card. I think that
Some weeks ago I tried to install Debian with SCSI
support, but I did not succeed. I had the Adaptec 2940u2w SCSI controller card,
and the first problem to overcome was that the SCSI bus did not stop resetting
even if I tried to give the boot argument "aic7xxx=no_reset" (as someo
all of em will work ...the type of connector really isn't important as
far as the kernel is concerned.. (all of them = all of the 2940U2Ws ..)

I have a selection to make and, unfortunately, I have to make it fairly
quickly. There are two different Adaptec 2940U2Ws that I can get. One of
them is standard whereas the other one is OEM and has a 50 pin external
connector compared to the normal 68pin. I would really like to connect it
t

That address is in the file linux/drivers/scsi/README.aic7xxx including in
the kernel source.
Good luck.

I have an Adaptec 2940U2W SCSI controller. During the intital
installation procedure debian can't seem to find it. I know it works
with Linux because I did have RedHat 5.2 running on it. I tried
passing the following boot parameters but to no avail:
boot: aha2940=2800h, 07, scsi-06, disco
