Ok, I run accelerated X. Sometimes dselect installs Xfree stuff. My defauly method of dealing with xfree breaking accelX is to reinstall the accel binaries, but I'm sure its easier than that. I asusme there are links someplace which link startx to accel x and those links get overwritten

Something Dselect did screwed up X. I think it upgraded xfree-common or something like that. The result was X not starting. I reinstalled all of AcceleratedX, and applied all the patches. Now, however, Xsetup says "Unsupport $TERM varible: "linux"" It gives the same error with vt100, vt102, an

Does anyone have any idea why with AccelX, after updating to the X stuff in unstable, would give me "Could not open display :0" when I run Xsetup? I reinstalled AccelX afterward and I have to enter a serial number, now so startx just doesn't work at all. Everything worked fine b

The Accel-X's xinit and xdm don't work on Debian? Did you try running ldd on them to see what libraries they are linked to, and then check to see if you actually have the libraries. If you have them, try running "nm" on the library to see if the function has actually been resolved or defined in t

Hi Jonas, I tried the Accelerated-X demo on my hamm system. It worked without a glitch, except for some monitor timings that I will have to convert from XF86Config style to XI style. I haven't tried the Accelerated-X server on any bo system. Sorry I couldn't be of any help. -Ossama __
