I get the same error there; "no such file or directory" for the package
listing.
I think it's not a mirror problem so much as ignorance on

I'm jumping in a little late in this discussion, but I just solved this
problem on the Dell Optiplex GX240 with a ATI Technologies

FYI no, it's a Dell Optiplex GX240. Mini desktop, video on the
motherboard.

Didn't know that Ati Rage Mobility was a mach64 chip, so that's
interesting info.
Anyway, I have it successfully used it at both woody and sid, and the
current installation on the x20 is woody, with a few sid packages :)

I don't know if you are running laptop or not, but I have two different
laptops (an old compac armada and a new ibm thinkpadx20) with ati rage
mobility and x4.1 and -2 with no problems. I also have a stationary, but
as "Driver" I use "ati" not r128.

I had to ftp to the Xfree site and download 4.2 for my Rage 128 agp
card. Have not had a problem with it at all. let me know if you want my

Hi Michael!
I'm running this chip on a Gateway stationary box, it took a while to
tweak it in Woody
A group of my users have bought a big batch of Dell desktops with what
appears to be an ATI chipset soldered to the motherboard for video.
My usual process for getting acquainted with new hardware is to start by
installing RedHat, archive /etc, install Debian, and then crib from the
RedHat /etc
