hi ya wilson if you need full functions of NFS/NIS in your aoutmounter you have ot use amd if you want something/simple/fast for things like automounting /home or /var/spool/mail than autofs is better/faster and autofs is part of the kernel have fun alvin http://www.linux-consulting.com

Just a quick question: When performing NFS/NIS-like automount functions, which utility is better - amd or autofs? In what sense? Thanks.
