I have had no problems running linux (or anything else) on a AMD 5x86
133Mhz, mind you mine is a genuine AMD chip supported by my motherboard,
not one of these overpriced 486-pentium, overdrive thingys.
Take some advice, if you want a pentium, buy a new motherboard+chip, its
well worth the extra,

I have been runing linux on that chip for ages now and I don't seem to
have noticed this problem. See if you can borrow a similar chip from
someone or fit your chip into another mother board ... ...
