appeared to be
really tedious.
Postfix (Version: 1.1.11-0.woody3) has been working well for months.
Sophos has been installed without problems.
Amavis-postfix has been installed without problems too, excepted the man
pages (?).
So, what is wrong ?

I've tried to make amavis work many different ways but no use.
I installed amavis-postfix, enabled my antivirus (Antivir) in
/etc/amavisd.conf like this:
# H+BEDV AntiVir
$antivir = "antivir";
Then added this to /etc/postfix/main.cf:
content_filter = smtp-amavis:[127.0.0.1]:10
I tried hard to configure amavis-postfix but I see nothing been done.
I had already posted this in a diferent thread.
What I need is an easy step-by-step decription of installing a scan mail
over my postfix (woody).
I want to strip off and long emails passing over my postfix which have .exe
The following was stated in the instructions
* the port number for the localhost:port transport is either 10025
(default), or whatever was configured through "--with-smtp-port".
But I have the following in my log

Yes I did. The only change I made was the following

$uvscan = "/usr/local/uvscan/uvscan";

uvscan - Engine Version:4160
FYI: All installs have been done using apt-get except for uvscan which
does not have that option.
