Folks - I'm sure others have come across this but I can't see the solution in the archives, so all help welcomed. On my box (2*Xeon, SATA HD), I've been running 2.4.27-1-686-smp and thought it's about time to move to 2.6 so I did a sudo apt-get install kernel-image-2.6.8-2-686-smp and rebooted b
