Thanks all for the tips.
I couldn't wait for my distribution to arrive so I've borrowed a copy of
Debian ver 1.3 It is a slightly limited copy from a trilinux CD with
all 3 major disributions on 1 disk but should keep me happy untill my
ver 1.3.1 arrives.

can work up the courage to repartition my hard drive.
Has anyone tried to set up Debian on an Iomega Jaz drive?

Easy mistake.
The directory where you found the resq1440.bin file also contains
rawrite2.exe . Use that to write the raw floppy disk image files onto
your floppy. They don't go in the filesystem - instead they over-write
the filesystem.
Thanks
