I'm having a real problem here with sendmail/debian.
I'm trying to get address rewriting in sendmail using genericstable.
When I was using a static IP / eth0 based connection this worked fine.
Now I'm using a PPP based / dynamic IP connection, and it doesn't.

May want to check with upstream on this one as this doesn't show
you everything that sendmail thinks about the local host... In my case it
ignores completely any IPv6 interface that sendmail is listening on even
when sendmail is compiled with NETINET6 support... I'm attaching to this
today.

I had a recurring problem getting the latest sendmail to work today on a new
potato laptop. IT continually bombed trying to find a required file; namely
the aliases file that lives on my desktop in /etc. I tried numerous
reinstalls of the latest sendmail in the instable tree but it would
