As far as I know both formats are 16bit 44kHz uncompressed audio. So
they're just a different way of storing it, neither one should have an
advantage over the other.

but i can rip with the headerless pcm format too.
question: does the wav format lose any sound quality when compared with the
headerless PCM format?
