My woody/ kernel 2.3.pre5 fails to unmount the /usr partition with:
umount2: Device or resource busy.
Tried umount -f /usr and get Device Busy error. Computer will shut
down and run check on the /usr partition on next boot.
ps shows only bash and tty. Thanks!

I compiled a new kernel (2.3.31) with Potato(current) kpkg and the
resulting .deb package says it installed fine but did not redirect the
vmlinuz link. Just changing this symlink won't boot system. Not sure
where to hunt "bug".

Any info appreciated.

sure why reboot and
update-modules didn't fix this before. Sound still is not working as
the "amixer" utility says alsa driver not on system and the
"alsamixer" utility responds with "TODO". Have RTFM till BITF(Blue in
the Face)!

No change. All started with potato update to gpm (mc wasn't changed)
so I think something is amiss with the new gpm.

Did the latest gpm (1.17.8-1) break the mouse in Midnite Commander for
anyone else? Mouse quit in MC with latest potato gpm update- Has been
a few updates ago it quit in aumix also. Seems to cut-and-paste ok but
no click-on works. Works normally in XFree.

the latest potato libc6, put the libdb2 on "hold" and all seems to be
working fine again.
The "wall" command is broken, but I have no idea what got it.

I have perl 5.005.02-2 on my potato system, but the latest is shown as
5.004 something. Perl-suid is not on my system and dselect will not
let me select it. Should I take the perl 005 off and install .004 or
try to find the perl-suid 5.005.whatever to match it? Thanks!

release -6 of the X packages. Did not have to fool with NLSPATH. Am
using the Comm4.05 now with the -8 packages and 2.1.129 kernel with no
problems.

I also get this error message on boot. The route command seems to be
broken, as the route manpage syntax will not add the loopback route
and generates this message. Don't know enough about it to tell exactly
what is broken (package-wise).

set root window color but does not seem to work. Get a security error
