having with the command line and the Computer itself. The website says to file

Hopefully a quick question!
I'm still learning my way around debian, I have a process that's trying
to put a lock on a file shared over an nfs mount, and not having any luck.
since there isn't a majic scrip called nfslock in my init.d I don't know
what to do!
Any hints?

After the first reboot, however, trying to bring up the ethernet devices
yields this: "error when getting interface flags, no such device"
Anyone have any hints for me? I'm new to this.

hello debian users,
i operate a small record label in madison wisconsin and we recently acuired the resources to operate a record store. i convinced me cohort to get a system and save money (and gain freedom of functionality) by installing debain. so he a got a athlon xp 1800 and debian(woody) i
cannot
disable x windows from the command line because I can never get in.
If you have any clues as to what might be causing my keyboard to disable
in the first place, I would be very grateful to hear them.

I am running Debian 2.0 and am expriencing problems
with my CDROM. Previously all was going well and I could add packages via the
2.0 CD, however recently my CD player has been giving problems (when I power up
the active light is flashing constantly and never stops).
